Since 1970, the Gastroenterology Clinic of San Antonio has provided exceptional care, compassion and sensitivity in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas and colon.

As one of South Texas’ oldest medical group practices, the clinic provides personalized, state-of-the-art specialty care, research and education in a comfortable, family-oriented environment. Our experienced team of physicians, nurses and technicians help clients to learn about their digestive diseases, diagnoses, and most appropriate and effective treatment options. Independently owned and operated, the Gastroenterology Clinic is under the medical direction of five physicians.

What sets the clinic apart from other gastroenterology groups is its commitment to education, research and community service. Many of our physicians are faculty members of the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Their first-hand involvement in the education of medical students positions them on forefront of research and technological advances in the field of gastroenterology. The Gastroenterology Research of San Antonio (GERSA), the clinic’s research division, the clinic is authorized to administer special trial medications that help patients when other treatments have failed.

Gastroenterology Clinic physicians also have a long history of steadfast dedication to community service. They stay active participating in an impressive roster of professional organizations, medical committees and boards as well as a variety of community groups. Many have practiced medicine among at-risk populations in third world countries. In addition, they are frequent contributors to professional medical research publications and serve as provocative lecturers at medical symposia nationwide. Some have won prestigious teaching awards and have gained international recognition for their compassionate work as physicians and researchers. Our patients feel a sense of comfort, knowing our physicians stay current in their filed and participate in medical advances.
